  • A phone charged to 100% (90% works too)

  • Comfortable shoes, even though the route is easy walking level

  • A 2-euro coin (or bank card) for public transport during the route

  • A water bottle

  • An umbrella and sunscreen: checking the local weather is always useful. We are in Brittany after all!

Approximately 3 hours depending on your walking pace and curiosity.

Although the walk is done over a half-day, we strongly recommend starting the route in the morning.

Ideal time: 10 a.m.

Why?

  • Easier to find a spot in the free parking lot, so you can start your walk peacefully

  • More pleasant to discover the Ville Close in the morning (less crowded than in the afternoon)

  • The route will take you past Concarneau's museums: take the opportunity to gather information for a visit in the afternoon

  • You can scout out shops and restaurants and return to them later in the day at your leisure

Between June 15 and September 15, we advise against starting this walk after 3 p.m., as some places may be closed, parking lots inaccessible, and traffic in the Ville Close becomes very difficult.

Every Friday throughout the year is market day. It will also be more difficult to find parking in the free lot in the morning.

Finally, on the 3rd Sunday in August, the Festival des Filets Bleus takes place. Access to Concarneau will be paid and crowds will be large; it's therefore preferable to avoid that day for your walk.

  • Meet at a free parking lot to start the walk (depending on traffic and times, see Our recommendations for timing)

  • Follow the walk at your own pace, without constraints

  • Great addresses (restaurants, bars, shops)

  • Locations of the nearest restrooms along the route

  • The route forms a loop: you finish where you started
